Q&A

Some people have inquired as to why the cows we are buying are so expensive ($1,000). There are several reasons for this. They include:
  • We are trying to get the best quality cows in Kenya, not just an average cow for a family, but a healthy high milk producing cow.
  • These will also have a better chance to reproduce since they are healthy - increasing the investment.
  • We are also interested in getting cows that are currently producing milk, so that the benefit to the school is in the near term, not months or years from now.
  • We also have several procedures in place to ensure that we will be getting a reasonable deal on the cows that we buy and that all of the money will go toward purchasing the cows. All of this will be verified and receipts documenting the purchases will be required.
